By joining this project you'll become part of a large, technically advanced team working toward huge impact. Our team works with modern web technologies and uses widely accepted standard practices in agile software development. 

This project is currently split into two sub-teams: the front end and the back end. We do weekly sync-ups  where the entire group gets together to be briefed on the overall status of the project and give input on product direction, then sub-team focus sessions are held to give hand on support to individual team members and small groups. The leaders of this project, along with all of our members, are open to guiding people of all skill levels as they work toward building cool new features into the platform!



Previous experience conducting user interviews virtually, attending weekly meetings, and collaborating with team members to create effective insights.

Gathering and evaluating user requirements, in collaboration with product managers, designers, and developers.
Must be able to attend weekly team meetings and commit five to 10 hours a week.
Conduct research on user experience and target audience.
Formulate insights based on user research results.
Proficient with UI/UX tools e.g., Figma
Preferred experience conducting user interviews and/or crafting interview dialogues.
Have a few years of experience OR have worked on a couple of projects.
Bring vigor, passion, motivation, and energy.
Willing to work in an Agile/Scrum development environment involving weekly standups and bi-weekly sprints.

Mentors and Mentee will list their areas of interest and expertise on the site and a matching process will give Mentees the option to initiate a mentoring request with a potential mentor.

Mentors could respond to the request by initiating a conversation on discord and track progress using the web utility, with the ability to add notes and track actions through time.

We are looking for a UX Researcher to join our product team and help us continue to set the design vision. This role will participate in key solutions within an existing product line and help develop new products. This person will be expected to work closely with product owners, UX and UI design peers, and developers. This role requires a self-starter, with strong communication skills, who enjoys collaboration across disciplines and who is passionate about communicating the user's voice and incorporating it throughout the product design process.

Work You'll Do:

• Define and deliver research and testing plans across multiple workstreams, including goals of the research, timelines, participant segment, and core activities to perform
• Help establish and communicate design best practices utilized by the team
• Perform competitive analysis to help set benchmarks and gain a view

React Project Lead

We're building a platform that inspires people to build cool software project ideas that will follow the Dev Launchers ethos website. This platform will be able to take in ideas from members of Dev Launchers, display these ideas for other users to interact with, and finally allow members to adopt others' ideas.

Often people have ideas that they do not have the bandwidth to address. These ideas will be further fleshed out by engaging members of the community. With our idea hub, we can brainstorm better, interact with other members' dream software projects, and build more together!

As a UX/UI Designer, you will be responsible for brainstorming creative concepts with the project team, developing original design concepts, executing designs based on established style guides, participating in visual design presentations to stakeholders, and developing design specs for production.

In this project, you'll be helping develop the backend systems to allow our platform to make a huge impact! We'll be using Strapi which is a headless cms that will help us develop at rapid speeds! We'll also be using other modern web technologies such as node js, PostgreSQL, Docker and using REST API principles to develop the backend.

We'll have weekly meetings where we meet with the front-end team to discuss the platform's direction and status and have a special backend-focused meeting where you can get one-on-one help.
